Re:Plenary Indulgence/Mass Intention/Rosary - Guideline Christina Sunday, September 30, 2012

Question:

Brother Ignatius Mary,

I am in error, It was not on the Rosary Confraternity web site that I saw it written that one can obtain an Indulgence for the living, but rather somewhere else on line... I have to remember to stick with the rules of the Catholic Church and be cautious about what I read online - actually what I read anywhere.

Also, I am wondering if it would be okay to enroll my mother in the Rosary Confraternity. She has dementia and is in a Nursing Facility. But, I requested that she participate in their weekly rosary recitation prayer and she does attend. My mother can pray - she remembers the Our Father and Hail Mary and always wants to wear her rosaries. How well she recites the rosary is another story. Would it be wrong to enroll my mother in the Confraternity.

- I also say "My Lord, My God" during the Communion Rite - after the Priest raises the bread, after he raises the cup, and also after he says "behold the lamb of God"... - It was something I read about in my Mother's prayer book that I do because you know, at that time, the bread and wine changes and is "My Lord, My God". - I also keep my head bowed during that time.

Thank you for the clarification.

Christina

Question Answered by

Dear Christina:

Thanks for the clarification. I am glad to know the Rosary Confraternity is not teaching error.

As for the other questions about enrollment, you will have to contact the Confraternity. Each Confraternity has their own rules.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
