Question: Hello, Ever since I was a young boy I have been interested in sexual things. It started out looking at Playboy magazines, then to rated R videos, then onto actual pornographoc videos. When the internet came out - the pornography really took hold. Along the way I still went to strip clubs, tried to meet women online and now - until recently I slipped into the dark world of prostitution (using prostitutes). I never thought I would do such a thing but I did - and now I seem to be really addicted to it. Really, the only thing I look up online is advertisements of these women. Most of the times i will be impure with myself but sometimes i will fall and meet up with the women. The feelings I feel afterward are indescribale fear, remorse and lonliness. I read somewhere online where you can form soul ties with these people and becomes linked to them spiritually - sort of being linked in with their life. I want to be pure and chaste but now I find that almost impossible. Can you help me? Would the seven steps of deliverance free me from any soul ties? Also - one last point - I am married. I'm sorry. Question Answered by Dear Michael: I am sorry to hear about these problems, but you are not alone. We have a support group for Catholics with sexual addiction. I think the numbers of our members is around 400 now. It is called the Catholic Support Group for Sexual Addiction Recovery. I recommend to check it out. The group can help you to find strategies to avoid sin. There is also a spiritual warfare aspect to this. Thus, you need to think of this as spiritual warfare. We have prayers that are useful to you in our Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog. The third item of advice is for your to follow the Seven Steps to Self-Deliverance. The Catalog and the Seven Steps are part of our apostolate, St. Padre Pio Center for Deliverance Counseling. Now to answer your question, if you have sex with prostitutes or dirty yourself sexually in other ways, you can be in bondage. It is possible to experience a demonic transference between the demons attached to the prostitutes and yourself. If you do not break this bondage soon, you could find yourself deeper into addiction, and deeper under the devil's control, to the point that self-help strategies and prayers will not be enough and you will need a deliverance counselor.
