How to help the poor beth Sunday, August 26, 2012

Question:

Greetings Bro, Though in one way I understand why paul ryan and republicans would want to get rid of or greatly reduce government assistance program because of many people abusing the system, but there's also a reality today that alot of people truly need it.

What bothers me even more on how they dont see it fit to raise the minimum wage, because according to them it would cause more jobs losses. I was watching on tv on how someone was explaining the part of the minimum wage and how it will affect the economy more if its raised. He also mentioned on how people shouldnt depend on government. He said that if you are in need that there's the church and local communities to provide for the poor. Im basically summarizing what he said.

In my opinion, i feel that he's only looking at it as in just feeding the poor, but what about the rest of the stuff like clothing, housing, bills, etc. He surely dont expect for the church and other charities to have enough to cover for all this for many.

Another thing if the whole idea is not to have people depedent wouldnt the church and others keep people still in depency. I dont understand.

Wouldnt it make more sense if everyone could get a just wage where they wont have to depend on any help except those who truly cant work and really need help. I cant think of anyone being able to afford rent on minimum wage without any other help, especially in new york city. What do you think about this?

Question Answered by

Dear Beth:

Well, it is certainly the case that government is not equipped, not competent, to be a nanny to everyone. This Nanny State, as it is sometimes called, is based upon Socialism. In fact, Progressivism, to which Obama admits to being one, is a kind of "evolutionary Marxism."

It is neither Constitutional nor within the realm of competence for government to rule over us like a parent. Those Presidents primarily responsible for this slow evolutionary Marxism were Theodore Roosevelt, a Republican, and Democrats, Woodrow Wilson (the uber-Progressive), Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, and Obama (the super-duper uber Progressive, otherwise known as the "messiah" to many. Obama brought the Progressives out of the closet and has thus awakened a sleeping giant.

The role of helping the poor belongs to the churches, not the government. If the government got out of the nanny-business and turned over all charitable functions to the churches and non-profits, the poor would be helped at a far greater degree, with light-years more competence, and tremendously greater success in bringing people out of poverty.

Why is this the case? Because our taxes could be lowered dramatically if the government got out of the charity business letting people to give more to the poor.

But, we need to remember something. All this rhetoric about the poor that the Progressives spew, is based upon a lie. The Progressives are ideologues who wish to fundamentally change America. That means to change it to a socialist state. Not kidding.

Like with the Health Bill, the Food Police laws, this too, is about power. It is a power grab by the government.

I believe it was Saul Alinsky, one of Obama's heroes, who proposed a massive campaign to get all the poor signed up all at the same time for everything they are eligible for. Sounds like a good and compassionate move, right? Wrong! Alinsky said that the motivation and strategy for this campaign was to overwhelm the government with so many new applications for assistance that they would be forced to re-distribute wealth (that is, socialism). He cared little for the poor. His motive was power and changing American into a socialist state.

Paul Ryan's plan make far more sense than anything "Heil Obama" proposes. We need to nurture an economy that is healthy so that higher wages can be paid. Obama and his ilk are designing a society to be more dependent upon the government teat.

Given that there has been a slow corruption of our society toward socialism, and now with Obama who has brought it out into the open, there has nevermore been a time so important to stand up for what is right and good.

No Christian can vote for Obama. Any that do are sinning. Obama, and the Democratic Party are the party of death. That alone makes it clear that no Christian can vote for Obama without sinning. This is not just my opinion, but Bishops have openly said as much. For example, here is an article by Bishop Gracida: On Voting for Pro-Abortion Candidates.

Since we have lived in a constitutional and sociological squall that has been building over the last 120 years, the solutions, like medicine, may be hard to swallow at first, and even cause pain, but if one sticks with the medicine healing will follow.

The first step is to get rid of Obama and his entire ilk.

I am not a fan of Romney. But, he is all there is right now. Ryan is a young and bright possibility for the future President.  The choices are clear for anyone of good will. Obama-Biden must go.

This coming Thursday at 7pm CDT, August 30, 2012, will be the live show "The Growing Violence Against Republicans and Conservatives." If you can't make it on Thursday evening, the shows are archived.
