Question Answered by
Dear Christina: Follow the guidelines for Plenary Indulgences as written. If the guidelines do not say anything about requiring the sacramental be taken with you to a Church, or going to a Church at all, then it is not required. Anything required will be specifically stated. It would be an act of cruelty to require something and not tell a person about it. Confession can be a few days before or after the day of the Indulgence. If the only Confession available is on Saturdays, then go the Saturday before or the Saturday after the day you do the work of the Indulgence.
