Jesus' Lineage Christina Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Question:

Hello again Brother Ignatius Mary,

Jesus is Jewish and his lineage traces back to Adam. I am not Jewish but Catholic, so where does my lineage trace? Are all those that are Jewish of the 12 Tribes of Israel? Is it true that I am really adopted? I guess what I am asking is how do we all fit into this?

Once again, thank you for your answer.

Question Answered by

Dear Christina:

The lineage of all the human race, including you and me, is traced back to our original parents (Adam and Eve).

Jesus' human lineage is the line of Jesse ---> King David ---> Solomon ---> St. Joseph, by virtue of marriage (Joseph was Jesus' foster father). God, through Mary, provides the maternal lineage. Mary was also of the line of David.

That branch of the Human Family Tree was extinguish since St. Joseph and our Blessed Mother had no other children.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
