Question:

Dear Brother,

I have an acquaintance with a man who is a Catholic and very much into his faith. Although he has Christianity within him and can be very nice at times; he is sarcastic and says things that are very rude.

Because of his sarcasm, I remain cordial to him but do not have as much interaction with him as I use to, as I've heard him say things to others that were not humorous but more so hurtful. I've also notice, that when he and I have a one-on-one conversation, he's very charming as we engage in conversations about God and faith which is very pleasing; but around others he appears boastful.

However I wanted to know, if someone like this man has such a strong adoration for God, how and why would they be sarcastic toward others and is this anti-Christian or just part of their personality?

If you could please give me some insight on this, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you,
God Bless,
Crystal

Question Answered by

Dear Crystal:

Without talking to the man there is no way for me to know why he does what he does. There are a whole host of possible reasons.

It is not important for us to know the reasons, however, rather pray for him regardless of why he does it. It is okay for you to limit your interaction with him so as not to enable him or for him to rob your peace in Christ.

Pray for him.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
