Question: Brother, how would one go about explaining to someone how reincarnation is false in a logical, coherent, and truthful manner? I know reincarnation is a silly idea chiefly because God says so and also because it is both a man-made invention and illogical, but I would like to be better equipped to otherwise explain why. |

Dear Ryan: Westerners have a romanticize view of Reincarnation. What many do not realize is that in the economy of reincarnation one can return as a cockroach. That is one reason why Hindus and Buddhists and others will not kill a cockroach — it might be an ancestor! I am always amused at people who believe in reincarnation always seems to be reincarnated from some famous person, or a noble person. The other notion I ponder is that if reincarnation exists and with each incarnation one becomes more enlightened, I would hate to meet that fella 1000s of years ago from whom I was reincarnated. I know how much I am not enlightened; that guy must have been a walking vegetable. You will find a list of many articles on this subject at Catholic Answers. God Bless,
