What should I do about a prophecy given me? Saintpedro Sunday, August 14, 2011

Question:

I have been given a prophecy by an angel about God being fed up w/the moral depravity affecting our children (child prostitution, child abuse, sexting, online predators, child pornography, man-child love, etc.) in America. I have e-mailed priests that I have met casually (one is a well-known author) but they do not respond and for some reason I am prompted not to share it with the parish priest. They probably think I am a wacho. I am new to the area and need a priest to give me direction. It is a dire prophecy and I am a truly reluctant prophet if that is what I am. I have written up what I have been told. I was shocked after the angel prompted me to research the statistics about what is happening to our children. They are being led like the Pied Piper of Hamelin and we are "asleep" to how bad it is. The angel claims that while God sees abortion as an abomination he is even more outraged by how we treat the children that survive. He is saying, "Enough is enough." I sense there is hope if people get on their knees and beg for God's mercy and protection of their children and grandchildren and in communities fight against the smut pedlers and sexual predators through legal advocacy. I ask for your guidance and thank you. The angel is very persistent and suggests that the "correction" from God is not far away.

Dear Pedro:

No private revelation should ever be considered without spiritual direction. You need to find a spiritual director.

As a spiritual director myself, I must examine the statement of any alleged private revelation. One thing you said lends doubt as to whether or not you have been given a legitimate prophecy. You said, "The angel claims that while God sees abortion as an abomination he is even more outraged by how we treat the children that survive."

There is nothing worse than murdering unborn babies. How children are treated who are allowed to live is not a greater sin than abortion. This is not my opinion, but a declaration of the Church. Abortion is so egregious that it incurs an automatic excommunication.  Child abuse, even child sexual abuse, as evil as it is, does not incur an automatic excommunication.

No angel from heaven would tell you something that contradicts official Church teaching. Thus, it would appear that your angel was not from God.

From what you are telling me, and granted that I have not talked with you personally, it would appear that this "angel" was not from God. Thus, I would advise that you renounce this prophecy and rebuke this "angel" should it ever talk to you again.

We will be praying for you.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
