To overcome sin, fully convert and live a holy life | Joe | Friday, December 17, 2010 |
Question: Hello Brother. I have a question. Aside from attending Holy Mass, what personal devotion do you recommend to one who is trying to overcome a life of habitual sin...Stations of the Cross? The Holy Rosary? 15 Prayers of St. Bridget? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)
Dear Joe: Any devotion that you commit to will help you. The Rosary is considered perhaps the most powerful personal devotion. I prefer the Divine Office myself. There are versions of the Divine Office that are simpler to follow such as the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We have links to these various versons to buy. There are three books I recommend that are invaluable to pursuing the devout life, especially the first book on the list which was specifically written to laity to help them live a devout life: Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales I also recommend devotion to your patron saint and to other saints who specialize. who are patrons, for the problems you may have. I am preparing a list of 20 Steps to Ensure a Devout Life. As soon as it is finished I will announce it on our home page. The above will get you started on your journey.
