Prayer for daughter Celine Therese lisara Friday, December 3, 2010

Question:

I hope all is well with you, and I hope God is showering his blessings on you. I am writing to you yet again about something that is very sensitive to me concerning my 17 year old daughter. I have been praying about this particular thing for several years already, and as well am getting help from counseling.

My oldest daughter has always had emotional problems, and difficulties in school and with making friends. She is not your average 17 year old who goes out with friends...she finds making friends difficult. And it is even more difficult now because she quit school during her Junior year...this was a painful decision, and now we are seeking to get her into a job corps program.

Our financial difficulties have likely contributed to her anxiety problems, and as well i know she has a predisposition to emotional difficulties due to my faulty genes...who knows. I DO have a 16 year old daughter who is emotionally stable and is a good student and participates in extracurricular activities despite our problems at home.

I just want your prayers. I need to know that there is someone who will pray for her. I know this will probably make some of your detractors laugh if they read this, but my heart breaks for her because she is confused about her sexuality. She thinks she may be a lesbian. I have told her that I had those same doubts about myself when i was her age and some older, but I concluded that my happiness is in Jesus Christ. yes, I KNOW I have had some UPS and MANY DOWNS where my faith is concerned, it has been a bumpy ride, but the best that has come from it all, is that I KNOW that FAITH is a GIFT. God is First before anything for me and my husband.

I am scared for her like she will never understand, because the lure of the world and all the political correctness is blinding for some people...and I don't want it to be for her. We pray the rosary together. I know that evil is "good" in this world, and good is evil, and that anyone daring to follow Christ will have to put up with the ridicule that is issued our way...I just hope that she can. She is painfully shy, and has never had a boyfriend or any other close friend. I just want for you to keep her in your prayers. Her name is Celine Therese. I named her after St Therese, and St Therese's sister.

Thank you for your prayers. Of course we will pray for you too. We aren't "prayer hogs", haha...

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OMSM(r)

Dear Lisa:

It is always hard to see our children when are children are hurting and suffering. We must take solace in knowing that each of our children have a Guardian Angel and that God loves them so much. But, God will never interfere with anyone's free will. He will try to convince us of the right thing to do, but God will not force us.

What you can do as a parent is to persevere in prayer for your daughter. Perseverance means to pray, pray, and pray some more for as long as you live. We have prayers in our Spiritual Warfare Catalog that can be useful to you, such as the Prayer for our Children, and Hedge Prayers of Protection, and Hedge Prayer for Wayward Persons. This catalog of prayers is located at: Spiritual Warfare Catalog.

I would also recommend that you offer devotions to St. Dymphna, the patron saint of those with emotional and spiritual afflictions, and your daughter's patron saints, Celine and Therese.

We included your daughter in our Proxy Deliverance this last Monday night. We do this once a month for people who cannot or do not wish to ask for help directly, and for others who are not formal clients who need special prayers for deliverance. Your daughter, therefore, will be prayed for by our Spiritual Warrior Prayer Team for as long as we exist.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
