Question:

Hi brother hope all is well,

I was reading my Duay-rheimes new confronternaty edition bible and I have a question about a footnote and church Tradition in regards to one part of Revelation. I don't have the bible in front of me but I had a question about the part where the woman with twelve stars above her head clothed in the sun. The footenote for this paragraph states this description does not fit the Virgin Mary but is attributed for convenience. I figured because of the mentioning of labor pains which it is believed by my understanding that she was sparred because she was born without original sin. Could you explain why we attribute this passage to the Blessed Mother? Thank you very much.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear George:

This Rock magazine has a great explanation of this. I cannot explain it any better, so I will refer you to the article in This Rock, entitled, The Woman in Revelation 12 by James Akin.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
