Question: I liked the answer you gave to Jeff regarding the odds of just eight prophesies about Jesus coming true as 1 in 100 Quadrillion. I read a book many years ago (non catholic writer who later admitted that many thingd he stated in the book were false) that some college students (which was not cited as to who, when, where, etc) that the chances of all the prophesies that Jesus fulfilled were astronomical and that the computers they used could not even go that high in numbers. But where did this 1 in 100 quadrillion come from? I would, with your permission, like to use this too but I would need some citations on this figure. Hope I'm not putting you on the spot. Thanks and God Bless |

Dear Chas: That statistical analysis came from a book called, Science Speaks, written by Peter Stoner and published by Moody Press in 1963. H. Harold Hartzler, of the American Scientific Affiliation, Goshen College writes in the forward to Stoner's book:
The Christian Victory Publishing Company of Denver, back in 1972, was ready to give anyone $1000 in reward if it can be proven that anyone, living or dead, other than Jesus, who can fulfill only half of the predictions concerning the Messiah, which are outlined in the book, Messiah in Both Testaments, written by Fred John Meidau and published by The Christian Victory Publishing Co. in 1967 (an updated version here). I do not know if that offer still stands. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
