Question:

Dear Brother Ignatius,
I praise the Lord that you told Jess this wonderful advice on purity in her relationship with her boyfriend. I want for her to know I am praying for her (I am going to church in a moment ).

I was in the same situation 25 years ago with someone whom I married (and now have a Catholic annulment from that marriage). I hope she is reading this so that she can know to be courageous to LET go of this person if she has to, if he does not respect her wishes! I COMPROMISED just as she has done, and lost my peace of soul. when you MARRY a selfish person, they STAY selfish. I HOPE he sees the light and respects her, but if he doesn't, I want for her to have courage!

I am NOW married 17 years, three kids to a BEAUTIFUL man who DID respect my wishes to NOT have sex during our courtship! We put God first before our desires, and he blessed us with a fine marriage. He understood my relationship with God, and how grateful I
was to the Holy Spirit for delivering me from an abusive marriage, that he would have never dreamed of coming between God and I.

I hope she reads this and takes it in the "spirit" it is written: good-will and desire for her spiritual success. Amen, Jesus!
