Question:

Is abortion ever forgiven.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Liz:

Yes, abortion can be forgiven if you are contrite and seek forgiveness. Go to the Sacrament of Confession and make a good confession, including the sin of abortion. When the priest absolves you of your sins, the sin of abortion will be wiped away from your soul and you will be restored to a state of Grace.

All sin is forgivable, except for the sin of refusing to accept God's forgiveness. God does not force His grace and forgiveness on anyone. If we seek God's forgiveness, He gives it.

God promises, (1 John 1:9)  "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

God keeps His promises. He does not lie.

So, confess your sins, even the sin of abortion, in the Sacrament of Confession, and be forgiven and cleansed.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
