New Mass Translation Chas Saturday, February 20, 2010

Question:

Dear Brother,

For several years I have been hearing that a new and more accurate translation of the English Liturgy has been approved by Rome and should be out very soon. Do you have any inside information as to when this is actually going to come to pass and what has been the delay? I know that some "progressives" are not happy with it because they apparently got what they wanted originally but through the efforts of many faithful Catholics Rome has listened to the faithful and now has are more accurate translation. I have always wondered why the Latin of "Dominus vobiscum,,, et cum spiriti tu tuo" is translated into English as ",,,,and also with you", while in Spanish it has the correct translation of "y con tu espiritu". I understand its going to be changed to the accurate "and with your spirit" in English. In the Anglican Usage Parishes they use "...and with thy spirit"

Thanks and God Bless
