Question:

I do not know if I am doing the correct thing. I have been saying the hedge prayer for my husband so that he will stop listening to his mother and come back to me. My mother in law is a very dominating person. She comes often to visit us from her native country. She influences my husband a lot. The first time she came, she encouraged my husband to divorce me. And after that everytime she comes, there is so much of tension in the house. Now, I have been working very hard on my marriage. Things have become better since she is not here. But she keeps calling my husband instigating him to bring her to our place. I don't want her to come because she influences my husband a lot and during her visit, my husband becomes very distant from me.

Tell me brother if it is ok to say the hedge prayer for my husband. I am so desperate to get my marriage together. But I don't want to do anything that would hurt my spiritual growth towards Jesus.

Thanks

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Maria:

Yes, it is appropriate. Also the Prayer for Marriage and Resisting Satan's Attack Against Our Household . From your description your marriage is under attack. You have the right and duty to fight for your marriage. That begins with prayer.

Keep on praying.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
