Question: Thankyou for this wonderful site Brother, just the place to ask this awkward question. Lately I`v been having a few unusual erotic dreams, as if watching pornagraphic scenes, which I find arousing. I`m aware of the need to look away which I try to do. Do I need to confess this in confession ? mary
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Mary: Sorry for the delay in responding. Most everyone has erotic dreams from time to time. This is not sin as we have no control over our dreams. To sin we have to be able to choose the sin. We cannot choose our dreams. If we wake up from a dream and then sin, then that sin, not the dream, would need to be confessed, but the direct answer to your question is, no, dreams do not have to be confessed. God Bless, Bro. Sorry for the delay in responding.

Most everyone has erotic dreams from time to time. This is not sin as we have no control over our dreams. To sin we have to be able to choose the sin. We cannot choose our dreams.

If we wake up from a dream and then sin, then that sin, not the dream, would need to be confessed, but the direct answer to your question is, no, dreams do not have to be confessed.
