Need clarification regarding confession | Chas | Tuesday, January 6, 2009 |
Question: Bro. On the forum regarding Mortal Sin in the last paragraph it states "Even when we have not committed mortal sin, we are still obliged to confess our sins at least once a year. I was taught this as a child. However, when I mentioned this to a priest once he said that Code of Canon Law says we are to confess our sins once a year IF we have mortal sins to confess. But that if we have not committed any grave sins, then we do not obligated to once a year confession. Does the CCC mention this also? |

Dear Chas: That was a good catch. Your priest is correct. I have made the correction on our BBS and have contacted the author of the article about it. He thanked me, and thus I thank you, for catching the error. God Bless, Footer Notes: This forum is for general questions on the faith.
