Question: A comment regarding this--the Seal of the Confessional does not permit a priest to require the person to expose his sin. So he can advise that he turn himself in, but cannot make absolution contingent on doing so. |

Dear Bill: I believe the Seal of the Confessional prohibits the priest from exposing a person's sin. He can require a person to make restitution or to turn-himself in as far as I know.
