Question: Saint Jerome in his 23rd letter writes that virgins must avoid company of married ladies and not not to be distracted by thoughts about marrige St.alphonsus also in his book ''true spouse of jesus christ'' tells virgins to do the same BUT nowadays many monks and priests and nuns are giving sex advice and always talk about marriage.IF I want to be a holy virgin which one of this behaviors is best for me?
Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM Dear Catherine: I cannot answer this. I do not know you or what God has called you to do. If God is calling you into cloister then you will be separated from the world and the people in the world. If God is calling you into active ministry, then you will, by necessity, interact with various people. In that case, your interaction with people in the world must be very cautious and circumspect. Protection of our soul and the avoidance of the near occasion of sin is paramount for all of us, not just those of us who are consecrated brothers or sisters. God Bless, Bro. Dear Catherine:

I cannot answer this. I do not know you or what God has called you to do.

If God is calling you into cloister then you will be separated from the world and the people in the world. If God is calling you into active ministry, then you will, by necessity, interact with various people. In that case, your interaction with people in the world must be very cautious and circumspect.

Protection of our soul and the avoidance of the near occasion of sin is paramount for all of us, not just those of us who are consecrated brothers or sisters.
