strange kind of mental prayer | catherine | Wednesday, June 25, 2008 |
Question: Hello and God bless you As you know better than me many saints spoke about necessity of mental prayer .as for me I could not meditate on passion heaven and hell howevr much I tried they caused me headache and exhastion BUT when I meditate on our lord as a man eating sleeping and sitting etc. my heart gets warm and I think I want to fly to him to embrace him I thought that I have spiritual gluttony but when I make this kind of mental prayer I can overcome my habitual sins and as soon as I give it up I return to the same sins NOW my question :do we have such thing as meditating on jesus in his ordinary life in catholic spirituality? God bless you |

Dear Catherine: You are doing fine. Sure you can mediate on Jesus in his ordinary life on earth. He has an extraordinary life. A life of love. That is a great thing to mediate upon.
