EMERGENCY CONSECRATION TO OUR BLESSED MOM | Pietro | Thursday, June 19, 2008 |
Question: When my mother was a newborn (1922) she became gravely ill, and the doctors were at a loss as to the cause. My grandmother consecrated her to the Blessed Virgin Mary and according to the local custom, she could only wear blue and white for 5 years, including bibs. Is there any spiritual efficacy in the custom, or is it all in the act of consecration? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Pietro: As in any consecration the efficacy is in the faith of the person making the consecration; in this case the faith of the grandmother. The local custom is just a local custom.
