Official latin editions of the 4 volumes we have in english. Michael Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Question:

Thanks for your comments on Eucharistic adoration on an online live feed- it will be helpful.

Concerning the Official 4 volume Latin edition of the Divine Office; It cost me $238.00(shipping included in the price quote) for the 2 editions for Ordinary time. I am planning to order the advent edition next month. beautiful books. These editions can be ordered from www.paxbook.com; ie, directly from Rome- they ship UPS. Are many willing to pay the price? if so, save up your money then order unless you can order by credit card. The books can be used along side the vernacular edition for the sake of translation. The only thing missing from the latin editions are the psalm prayers.

St. Teresa of Avila- her Latin wasn't very good, but she got more understanding and knowledge from reading Latin than she ever did from her own Spanish- she never understood anything from the vernacular edition of scripture of her day. I guess the Holy Spirit gave her the Knowledge and understanding through the Latin.
