Eucharistic Adoration on an online live feed | Michael | Wednesday, May 28, 2008 |
Question: Are the Graces the same if I make my Eucharistic Adoration on an online live feed adoration program such as on www.savior.org? The heat or cold of the day depending on the season of the year interacts with my medications for Blood pressure- the label on the meds. says no prolonged exposure in the sun or artificial sun light, also may cause drowsiness, etc. therefore much of the time waiting even for 10 minutes at the bus stop has its effects on me because of the meds. I also take blood thinners for blood clotting disorder. again, are the graces the same as being there in the actual place of exposition? |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Michael: I do not believe one would receive the "same" graces adoring the Sacrament over the Internet as he would in the physical presence of our Lord, but you do receive a grace. This is similar to a shut-in or sick person watching Mass on TV. One receives a grace from that but it is not the same as actually being there. Of course the TV or the Internet should not be the normal practice. Those options can never replace "being there". But when circumstances warrant watching Mass on TV or adoring the Eucharist on a live webcam instead of "being there" is a blessing and we will receive all the graces that God wills us to have.
