Doubts about the Catholic Church Mary Sunday, May 18, 2008

Question:

Dear Brother Ignatius,

Please help me. Last year I came across some websites saying that the Roman Catholic Church is the Antichrist and that they changed the ten commandments because we don't keep the Sabbath strictly and we don't keep it on a Saturday and we make graven images.

Then they are saying that before Jesus' Second coming the Devil will come in His Form, and I attended a retreat two years back where people saw Jesus and He was walking down the aisle (the priest said " You can see Him, walking down the aisle, Red shawl, long flying hair). When I asked one priest about this he said that when people praise and glorify God more He is present and Jesus said He would reveal Himself to those who kept His Words.

But what are these people saying that the Devil will come in Jesus form? I don't believe it much but please can you tell me why it is not true.

And there is this website that says that Vatican Two is heretical because it welcomes other religions and calls them noble, and that people of other religions cannot be saved, when before the Vatican used to say no salvation outside the Church. And they say that the New Mass is abominable desolation and that before Saint Francis or some saint said that Mohammed the founder of Islam was a servant of the devil and now the Pope kisses the Quran.

As you might recommend to me, I am already on Zoloft and Olanzapine because of my religious doubts.:(I fell sick because I saw evil spirits and they scared me. I was into astrology but I didn't know it was a sin. I was scared during my confirmation week (I had not read astrology that time but I was superstitious and used to think of omens) and when I attended the retreat I was scared too.

I cannot believe well in the Eucharist because I see another spirit in it and I cannot come to believe how that piece of bread is a man's body. And I cannot believe in the Eucharist because of my Vatican Two doubts.

Thank you for your patience. Please help . Love, Mary

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Mary:

Those websites are bigots who spew hatred, lies, and misinformation. Why would you listen to such people?

The same goes for so-called Catholic websites that say the Vatican II is heretical. They are idiots who have a psychological problem.

You need to stay away from these anti-Catholic sites like an alcoholic needs to stay away from alcohol. You are only asking for trouble and confusion by reading such sites.

If you want to know about the Catholic Church read CATHOLIC websites that are loyal to the Pope, not a bunch of nimrods who hate the Church or who are rebellious against the Church.

You keep saying, "I cannot believe..." That is not true. You can believe. It is your decision on what you will or will not believe.

As to the Eucharist, we can believe what the Catholic Church teaches because that is what Jesus taught. Jesus is not a liar. The Apostles taught this, they are not liars. The Church has taught the Real Presence of Christ for 2000 years. You are going to ignore 2000 years of Church teaching going all the way back to the Church Fathers and the Apostles themselves in favor of a bunch of nimrods' personal opinions that at best are only a few hundred years old and often not even that old? Why believe in any man-made notions and opinions when we have the Holy Spirit Church, the Catholic Church, that has taught the same thing without change for 2000 years?

STOP reading garbage, and start reading Catholic sources and stick to only loyal Catholic sources. That is my prescription.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
