Prayer During the Day | Joe | Thursday, February 4, 2010 |
Question: During the seasons of Lent etc. we are told that the antiphons are proper. Only one antiphon is given for use at the beginning and end. Should we use antiphons in between that are given for use throughout the year? Joe |

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM
Dear Joe: For the Day Prayers only one antiphon is assigned from the Proper of Seasons. You can say the Antiphon at the beginning of the first Psalm, recite all of the Psalms, then end with the Antiphon. Or, what I do is say the one Antiphon at the beginning of each psalm, and then at the end of the last Psalm. This applies only to the Four-Volume Edition. In the One-Volume edition each Psalm as its own antiphon listed. God Bless,
