Question: Dear Bro. Ignatius: I don't know much about TFP but I can tell you this. They do hail from Brazil. Far from being involved in Liberation Theology, though, they more properly viewed as a reaction against the same. The "family and property" part of their title indicates their fondness for aristocratic values of days gone by. In terms of an analogous pedigree in Brazil, that would be, IMHO, the traditionalists of Campos, Brazil (now in communion with Rome). Hope this helps. God's peace, |

Dear George: Thanks for the comment. We seem to have some conflicting information. Not sure what the real scoop is on this group. However, it does look like the Brazilian Bishops have condemned this group according to the information Peter listed in his post on this subject. God Bless, |
