Three Days of Darkness Charlotte Tuesday, January 11, 2005

Question:

Dear Brother Ignatius Mary,

Is what I read off the internet and in books about the three days of darkness really going to happen as I read it will? That there won't be a demon left in hell, that people caught outside during this period will die.

I don't know how much you know about this, but it scares me and I hate to think that this is what is going to happen. Apparently several holy people have had visions about this, including Padre Pio. Can you tell me anything about it. Thank you.

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Charlotte:

The "three days of darkness" idea is from private revelation. As such, even if approved by the Church, it does not have to be believed and certainly has no effect on our salvation.

There is one thing for sure: BE NOT AFRAID! God is in control. God promises that nothing will come into our lives that we cannot handle. Since God promises this and since He is not a liar, we can be assured that it is true.

Personally, although I do adopt some of the devotional practices that come from some approved Private Revelations, I pay little attention them otherwise and I pay no attention at all to private revelations that have not been approved by the Church.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
