A QUESTION ON MATT 18:17 bill Sunday, January 9, 2005

Question:

THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD ABOUT MATT18:17 FROM A NON CATHOLIC "Matthew 18:17 is Jesus talking about the "Jewish church/gathering",

Jesus CANNOT be talking about His church gatherings.

Jesus CANNOT be giving NEW Covenant teaching 'BEFORE' the cross,

For Jesus was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of ISRAEL. The NEW Covenant is the Holy Spirit conveying the words of Jesus. The OLD Covenant is the Holy Spirit conveying the words of the Father. The words of the Father have no relevance within Jesus' NEW Covenant church. So Bill, you need to stop using them to propogate any NEW Covenant TEACHING.

ALL scripture BEFORE the cross, is OLD Covenant.

The 'false' catholic Denomination placed an UNAUTHORIZED title page in between Malachi and Matthew. Thus causing ENORMOUS error. Causing people to believe that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John before the cross, is NEW Covenant, when it is NOT.

The Bible plainly declares that anyone who tries to teach OLD Covenant in place of Jesus' NEW Covenant, is a spiritual ADULTERER. And that in doing so, they fall from Grace."

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH A ANSWER

Question Answered by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM

Dear Bill:

This idea that you were told about is a novel and rather stupid idea. There is no practical purpose in arguing with people like this.

Jesus gave us the New Covenant and his teachings refer to that New Covenant. Anyone with an IQ above 25 should see this as obvious.

As with the last post, remember the advice from Scripture: "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
