Question: Some of my protestant friends have told me that it is not SOLA scriptura that they hold too but SOLO scriptura. Hence, the Catholic take on the protestant position does not stand up. Could you shed some light on this please?

Dear Doug: I think some of your Proestant friends have elevators that do not go all the way to the top. "Solo" means "alone" and "Sola" means "alone". Both words are the same deriving from the same Latin word solus. Solo is the masculine form and Sola is the feminine form. I suggest that your friends get their foot out of their mouth, the egg off their face, and get education before they try to make comments about the Church :) God Bless, |
